Department of History at U.G. level was started in 1966 with special subject & P.G. department in 1987. Department is very well known for its curricular & extra-curricular activities. Department organizes Educational tours at historical places, Modi script workshops, Guest Lectures & Guidance for competitive examinations. The department is working very hard for all round development of poor & needy students from rural area. It conducts project work for TYBA (Special Paper-III) & for PG.

In 2015-16 the department organized National seminar on “Society, Art & Culture in India during the Mughal Period.” In 2016-17 it organized National conference of “Akhil Maharashtra Itches Parishad.” On the occasion of this conference it arranged historical exhibition as well as book exhibition and sale. It was great opportunity for rural students & citizens to observe Historical Coins, Arms, Documents, Archaeological objects & Pictures of forts. In 2017-18 the Department organized National seminar on “Strategy of War & Psychology.” We are working on various research topics related to our subject. Department is trying to conduct such activities in future continuously for the comprehensive development of students.
